On 16 September 2026, backup power equipment maker Generac Holdings disclosed a long-term commercial supply agreement to provide Amazon with generators for its data centers. The contract carries an initial delivery commitment of 2.4 billion dollars across 2027 and 2028. Potential aggregate gross commercial payments under the agreement could reach up to 8.0 billion dollars.
As part of the commercial arrangement, Generac issued a warrant to Amazon.com NV Investment Holdings LLC to purchase up to 1,693,745 Generac common shares. The warrant features an exercise price of 200.9266 dollars per share. A total of 307,954 warrant shares vested immediately upon signing, while the remaining 1,385,791 shares will vest based on future commercial payments made by Amazon.
Generac shares closed the regular trading session on 16 September at 175.11 dollars. In extended after-hours trading following the announcement, Generac stock jumped 33.77% to reach 234.25 dollars.
