Carvana announced on 15 September 2026 that it plans to add an Inspection and Reconditioning Center to its ADESA Charlotte wholesale auction site in North Carolina. The integration expands reconditioning capacity across the company's national footprint and establishes a local pool of retail inventory. The move will support same-day vehicle delivery options for nearby buyers while maintaining existing wholesale operations.
The company expects the expansion to create about 100 skilled and entry-level jobs in vehicle inspection, reconditioning, and fulfillment over time. Carvana has already started hiring for these roles, which do not require a college degree and include company benefits. ADESA Charlotte covers roughly 50 acres, includes nearly 4,000 parking spaces, and has operated as an auto auction facility for over 30 years.
Carvana will use its proprietary software platform, CARLI, to manage the site's operational transition. Senior Vice President of Inventory Brian Boyd said the project will strengthen the company's national network and improve delivery speeds for North Carolina car buyers. North Carolina State Representative Terry Brown also noted that the investment in the Steele Creek area of Mecklenburg County supports local economic growth.
