The appointment takes effect on Dec. 1, 2026, succeeding interim leader John Murphy.
The Coca-Cola Company announced that Rob Gehring will become president of its North America operating unit effective Dec. 1, 2026. Gehring succeeds John Murphy, who has led the North America unit on an interim basis since Aug. 1, 2026. Murphy will remain president and chief financial officer of Coca-Cola.
Gehring returns to Coca-Cola from Monster Energy Company, where he served as CEO of Americas starting in February 2026, overseeing North America, Latin America, and the Caribbean operations. He originally joined Monster Energy in 2024 as chief growth officer.
Gehring began his career within the Coca-Cola system in 1992 across sales and marketing roles in the United States and Canada, later leading the Coca-Cola Walmart global team from 2011 to 2016. He then served as global chief sales officer at The Hershey Company before becoming COO, and later president and CEO, of Swire Coca-Cola USA in 2018, where he managed operations across 17 states with more than 8,000 associates.
Rob is a transformational leader whose exceptional ability to develop and lead people, combined with his deep operations experience, has made him a trusted partner across our system. I am pleased to welcome him back to Coca-Cola and look forward to partnering with him to grow our business in North America.
