GE HealthCare is in talks to acquire cancer diagnostics company Sofie Biosciences in a deal that could value the business at $1.0 billion. The Financial Times reported the discussions on 13 September 2026, citing people familiar with the matter.
The potential transaction would mark an increase in value for Sofie Biosciences. In 2024, investment firm Trilantic acquired a 25.8% equity stake in Sofie Biosciences at an implied enterprise valuation of $550.0 million.
GE HealthCare holds a reported market capitalization of $28.8 billion as of September 2026. Its share price has gained 12.0% since its first day of trading. Activist investor Trian Fund Management also maintains a $200.0 million position in GE HealthCare.
