Loans of $18 billion tied to Project Jupiter trade down as stock slides 50 percent
Bank loans worth $18 billion tied to Oracle's Project Jupiter data center campus have fallen into stressed secondary market trading. On 18 September 2026, the Financial Times reported that syndicate banks quoted bids at 89 cents on the dollar and offers at 91 cents on the dollar.
The $18 billion debt facility was initially raised in late 2025 to finance the construction of the Project Jupiter campus in New Mexico. The facility covers 1,400 acres and includes plans for 2.2 gigawatts of natural gas turbine power generation capacity.
The data center campus was designed to support Oracle's $300 billion computing-power agreement with OpenAI. However, Oracle's stock price has declined 50% over the past year following the announcement of that deal.
Amid the market pressure, Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison cancelled a $7.5 billion share-trading plan.
