The state-owned oil firm takes joint control of the petrochemical producer under CEO Magda Chambriard as board chair.
Petrobras and private equity firm IG4 Capital have taken joint control of Braskem following the transfer of shares previously held by Novonor to IG4. The new leadership structure gives Petrobras and IG4 four seats each across the executive management team.
The reshuffle was approved on 8 June. Petrobras CEO Magda Chambriard will serve as chair of Braskem's board of directors, while Helcio Tokeshi, a partner at IG4, will lead the new executive management team.
Petrobras nominated Raphael Franco de Campos, an executive with experience in its refining division, as chief operating officer. The state-controlled energy company also nominated Carlos Plachta, previously an independent Braskem board member, as global executive vice president for logistics, trading and markets.
IG4 nominated Carlos Brandão as a director, Camilla Tápias as executive vice president for legal affairs and institutional relations, and Luiz Rossato as executive vice president heading the transformation division. Incumbents Márcio Pitzer and Nir Lander will remain in their executive vice president roles covering compliance and corporate affairs.
