Quarterly profit held steady at $131,285 million while first-half earnings slipped 1.7%.
Quiñenco reported second-quarter profit of $131,285 million to the Financial Market Commission (CMF), compared to $131,254 million in the same period last year. Revenue rose 30.63% year on year to $1,746,209 million. For the full first half of 2026, profit fell 1.7% from the prior-year period to $331,352 million.
First-half performance reflected a downturn at Compañía Sud Americana de Vapores (CSAV), driven by lower results at German shipping company Hapag-Lloyd. CSAV posted a loss of US$132.6 million due to higher operational costs linked to Middle East disruptions. Among other holdings, CCU reported a profit of $33,143 million, down 28.8% year on year, and SM SAAM saw net income fall 5.9% to US$37.7 million.
Those declines were balanced by improvements in other corporate assets. The holding benefited from the sale of 2.2 million Nexans shares in February and the reclassification of its remaining 4.1% stake as a financial asset. In the banking sector, Banco de Chile grew net income 4.0% year on year to $659,195 million. Enex contributed $77,671 million to the group, up 218.22% from $24,408 million in the first half of 2025.
Macario Valdés, CEO of Quiñenco, stated in a release that the company achieved a positive and resilient performance supported by portfolio diversification in a challenging context, adding that this strength encourages the group to continue seeking opportunities in Chile and abroad.
