The move is part of an expansion into more than 35 new markets.
On 17 September 2026, Spotify announced the launch of the Spotify Partner Program in Colombia. The rollout is part of an international expansion across more than 35 new markets to provide video and audio creators with additional monetization avenues.
Under the program, creators earn money based on video consumption by Spotify Premium subscribers, as well as through automated ads shown on Spotify Free and external podcast platforms. Creators also retain 100% of the revenue generated from their own direct sponsorships. For Premium users in Colombia, dynamic ads are removed from enrolled video podcasts, while host-read sponsorships remain.
Colombia has a creator community that experiments with different formats and finds new ways to connect with its audiences. With the arrival of Spotify Partner Program, we want to accompany that creativity with more tools and opportunities so they can take their ideas further, strengthen their relationship with their communities, and add new ways to monetize their content.
Spotify noted that nearly six out of 10 podcast listeners in Colombia consumed shows in video format during 2026. Monthly video podcast consumption in Colombia rose by approximately 70% over the past year, while the number of local video podcasts expanded by more than 50%.
Globally, Spotify reported that video podcast consumption rose 140% following the introduction of the partner scheme, with monthly payouts to enrolled shows rising by more than one-third compared to January. Earlier in 2026, the company lowered qualification thresholds to allow more emerging creators to join.
