T-Mobile partners with U-wifi on nationwide MVNO agreement

T-Mobile entered a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) agreement with 5G broadband provider U-wifi on September 25, 2026. The partnership powers a nationwide program designed to expand low-cost internet access across the United States.

The initiative aims to address connectivity gaps following the expiration of the Federal Communications Commission Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP). That federal program previously provided 23 million eligible households with a $30 monthly internet subsidy.

Under the deal, U-wifi will run on T-Mobile's nationwide 5G wireless network, combining it with its ad-supported FreeU platform. The model allows subscribers to watch ads voluntarily to earn credits that can reduce or eliminate their monthly broadband bill.

Dirk Mosa, senior vice president of spectrum, wholesale and roaming at T-Mobile, said the deployment on T-Mobile's network makes connectivity more accessible by delivering reliable internet access without compromising speed or experience. U-wifi plans to share further market availability and eligibility rules in the coming weeks.
