Its operations are structured into three distinct business units. The Ratings division specializes in conducting credit assessments for corporations, financial institutions, bank loans, and small and medium-sized enterprises, alongside offering credit analysis and grading services. The Research segment is dedicated to providing comprehensive research and risk solutions, including sector-specific reports, bespoke studies, data subscriptions, independent equity analysis, initial public offering evaluations, and training programs. Moreover, the Advisory division delivers strategic guidance, complemented by advanced risk management tools, analytics, and solutions tailored for financial institutions, banks, and corporate entities. Established in 1987, the company was initially named The Credit Rating Information Services of India Limited before officially adopting CRISIL Limited in December 2003, maintaining its headquarters in Mumbai, India.
