Advanced Micro Devices CEO Lisa Su plans to meet the head of Samsung Electronics' semiconductor business on Wednesday during her visit to South Korea. Su will meet with Samsung Vice Chairman Jun Young-hyun, according to a person familiar with the matter.

Representatives of both AMD and Samsung declined to comment on the talks. The trip marks Su's second visit to Seoul in seven months as the tech industry navigates shortages across memory products and rising prices that strain data-center operators.

The meeting follows an agreement in March between AMD and Samsung for next-generation high-bandwidth memory and advanced memory chips. South Korea is coordinating $880 billion in digital infrastructure and AI data-center investments from firms including Samsung and local peer SK Hynix.

Samsung and SK Hynix supply high-bandwidth memory for many advanced AI accelerators worldwide. At the same time, South Korea's telecommunications, manufacturing, and internet platform firms are expanding investments in AI facilities and enterprise services.
