The regulator cleared subordinated debt issuances and automatic registry inclusion.
Bancolombia announced its automatic inclusion in Colombia's National Registry of Securities and Issuers on 8 September 2026. The bank also received regulatory clearance from the Superintendencia Financiera de Colombia for a public offering of subordinated bonds classified as additional Tier 1 capital.
The official notice from the Colombian financial regulator approves the offering of these subordinated bonds for an aggregate amount of up to $2 trillion, aimed at the second market.
Alongside the debt authorization, the lender expanded its digital customer onboarding. Non-clients in Colombia who are of legal age and hold a valid national identity card can now open accounts directly inside the Mi Bancolombia mobile app across three self-service steps, removing the need to visit a branch or access the website.
Llevar esta posibilidad directamente a la app Mi Bancolombia significa sumar una nueva forma de acceso que se conecta con las demás opciones que ya tenemos disponibles para acompañar a los clientes en su vida financiera
Once onboarded, new customers gain access to an ecosystem offering more than 100 products and services covering money management, payments, savings, investments, and credit.
