Slumps in rural and life insurance drove the decline at Brasilseg to 1.092 billion reais.
BB Seguridade released its monthly performance report for July 2026 on September 21, 2026, revealing that total written premiums at its insurance unit Brasilseg fell 23.7% year over year to 1.092 billion Brazilian reais.
The monthly downturn widened Brasilseg's accumulated contraction. Over the first seven months of 2026, accumulated written premiums totaled 8.585 billion Brazilian reais, down 6.7% compared with the same period in 2025.
Operational declines were led by rural insurance lines, where overall written premiums plunged 40.3% year over year in July. Within the rural portfolio, agricultural insurance dropped 61.8%, rural pledge decreased 42.9%, and life insurance for rural producers dropped 28.6%.
Standard life insurance premiums fell 14.3% from July of the previous year, whereas credit life insurance expanded 6.3%. Beyond the insurance division, private pension contributions at Brasilprev dropped 15.8% year over year, while capitalization bond collections at Brasilcap rose 3.4%.
