The proposed deal features a 34% wage fund boost and adds $240 million to annual payroll.
Bargaining unit councils at the Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA) voted to recommend acceptance of a revised four-year contract offer from Boeing. The labor organization represents 16,000 employees across its bargaining units, including 12,696 engineers and scientists in the Professional unit and 3,959 workers in the Technical unit.
The four-year agreement provides a 34% total wage fund increase, an estimated compounded wage gain of 36.3%, and a guaranteed wage floor of 26%. Employees would receive an immediate 10% guaranteed wage increase effective October 2, 2026, followed by a 4% guaranteed raise scheduled for March 2027. The contract also raises the Employee Incentive Plan target from 5% to 7% starting in 2027.
If ratified, the deal is projected to add $240 million to Boeing's annual base payroll expense. Average salaries for the Professional unit would rise from a baseline of $152,000 to $208,000 by the conclusion of the contract. Average salaries in the Technical unit would increase from $119,000 to $163,000 over the same term.
The recommendation required a 60% supermajority approval from the bargaining unit councils. In August, union members rejected Boeing's initial offer, with 64.25% of the Professional unit and 71.87% of the Technical unit voting against it. In the same balloting, 87.82% of Professional members and 89.71% of Technical workers approved strike authorization.
