The cloud provider will send specialized data scientists directly to industrial clients.
CoreWeave launched a hands-on service called Physical AI Field Engineering, reported on 14 September 2026. Under this initiative, the cloud infrastructure provider will send specialized data scientists directly to work inside client facilities across the automotive, aerospace, and robotics sectors.
The embedded engineers will help manufacturing clients gather sensor, test, and live data to build custom AI models for physical products like sensors, car parts, and rocket engines. This process aims to bridge the gap between pure digital data science and physics, ensuring that models follow physical laws before entering factory operations.
The new service expands CoreWeave into higher-margin professional services and broadens its target market into heavy industry. CoreWeave has scaled rapidly since late 2022, growing from three data centers to 51 locations across North America and Europe with more than 250,000 high-end Nvidia graphics processing units installed.
The strategy also ties closely to Nvidia, which holds an ownership stake of about 11.5% in CoreWeave. As CoreWeave signs more manufacturing clients, it will need to purchase additional chips from Nvidia, whose shares have gained nearly 20% over the past 12 months.
