The new 45-watt accelerator targets low-power enterprise inference workloads across selected systems.
Dell Technologies shares rose approximately 4.7% to $568.86 on 16 September 2026. The move followed a Reuters report confirming that Dell added Axelera AI's Europa accelerator to selected enterprise systems.
Axelera states the Europa processor delivers 629 trillion operations per second under a 45-watt thermal design limit, reaching roughly 14 TOPS per watt. The hardware is designed for power-conscious enterprise AI inference rather than large-scale AI training. Axelera is targeting $1.5 billion in potential sales, noting that this figure reflects pipeline opportunities rather than confirmed orders or booked revenue.
The hardware addition builds on Dell's existing server scale. The company shipped $16.4 billion in AI servers last quarter and closed the period with a backlog of $95 billion, equal to roughly 5.8 times quarterly shipments.
