Google Cloud to double Brazil infrastructure by 2030

Google Cloud announced plans on September 24 to double its technical infrastructure in Brazil by 2030. The expansion aims to boost local capacity for data processing, storage, and high-performance computing to meet growing artificial intelligence workloads. The company did not disclose the investment amount or the specific capacity volume.

Starting October 15, the web version of Gemini Enterprise will process Brazilian customer data locally when using the Gemini 3.5 Flash model. Google Cloud stated that customer data is not used to train foundation models without explicit consent. Its cloud region in São Paulo has operated since 2017.

To support the workloads, the company launched G4 virtual machines in Brazil equipped with Nvidia RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Server Edition GPUs. This deployment follows the 2025 introduction of Google's proprietary Trillium TPU chips to the Brazilian cloud region.

Google Cloud will also expand its Forward-Deployed Engineers team in Brazil, which works on deployments lasting six to 12 weeks with clients such as Magalu and Natura. Additionally, the unit is providing 10,000 free technical certification vouchers as part of a plan to train 3 million Brazilians in cloud and AI technologies by 2030.
