Google launches Fitbit Edge tracker for $179.99
The new wearable features AI health monitoring, a seven-day battery, and arrives in stores on October 27.
Google introduced its new advanced activity tracker, the Google Fitbit Edge, on Monday, October 12, 2026. The device is priced at $179.99, with pre-orders opening immediately and store availability beginning on October 27. The purchase includes three months of the Google Health Premium subscription service.
The tracker expands the Health Guardian toolset across both the Fitbit Edge and the Fitbit Air. The system monitors monthly patterns to identify blood pressure changes and estimate insulin resistance trends without needles. Google stated in a media call that the insulin resistance analysis relies on onboard sensors and artificial intelligence models trained on clinically validated data, rather than external continuous glucose monitors. The device also includes an electrocardiogram sensor, a skin temperature sensor, and an optical pulse reader.
Google also announced a multi-year partnership with Flo Health to synchronize menstrual cycle and fertility data with user consent, correlating cycle phases with athletic performance and rest. In addition, the device uses large language models to expand automatic workout detection from 10 to over 100 activities, cross-referencing movement signals with user routines and location.
Hardware specifications include an 11.5-millimeter thickness and an OLED hybrid display that offers 46% more visible area than the Fitbit Charge 6. The battery lasts up to seven days on a full 90-minute charge, with a five-minute quick charge providing one day of battery life. Google noted that the device omits a microphone, speaker, and contactless mobile payments, and introduced an optional stainless steel mesh band.
