Grupo Argos Targets Venezuela Expansion by 2027

Grupo Argos views the strengthening diplomatic ties between Colombia and Venezuela as a major growth catalyst for its business in 2027. Juan Esteban Mejía, corporate affairs and talent manager at Grupo Argos, stated that the company is optimistic about expanding into industrial and trade operations across the border.

Speaking at the seminar organised by ANIF, Mejía explained that diplomatic progress creates an optimal backdrop for direct commercial engagement. He noted that renewed trade could serve as a powerful economic trigger for both nations in 2027.

The cross-border push complements several domestic bids planned for 2027 across the group's subsidiaries. In infrastructure, its concession arm Odinsa aims to win four tenders, including the expansion of the Bogotá airport, a new airport in Cartagena, and two road projects.

In the energy sector, holding firm Celsia plans to develop wind and solar generation projects in La Guajira, where equipment is already purchased pending licensing approvals. Meanwhile, the group continues developing Ciudad Mallorquín in Barranquilla, featuring 16,000 homes, alongside new tourism investments in Barú.
