Infosys sees no material impact from US PERM halt
The company recorded zero certified permanent residency cases in the first nine months of fiscal 2026.
Infosys confirmed in an exchange filing on October 10, 2026, that it does not anticipate any material impact from the U.S. Department of Labor decision to suspend PERM processing. The PERM program handles permanent labor certifications for foreign workers seeking U.S. permanent residency.
The operational exposure for Infosys remains limited. The company recorded 0 certified PERM cases in the first nine months of U.S. fiscal year 2026. Infosys had already seen no recorded PERM approvals since 2022, after filing 87 applications during calendar year 2024.
The Department of Labor suspended a total of 8 companies from the PERM program as of October 8, 2026. Under statutory rules, the initial duration limit for the suspension is 180 days. Across the industry, the top four Indian IT majors together recorded just 61 certified PERM cases in the first nine months of fiscal 2026.
Indian IT firms accounted for at most 2% of total U.S. PERM filings in fiscal 2025, receiving 1,400 certifications out of 117,849 applications filed across all industries. Between 2009 and 2026, the 8 suspended companies combined requested 3,000,000 foreign workers, securing 230,000 H-1B visa approvals and 100,000 permanent labor certifications.
