Infosys and Columbia University launch enterprise AI center
The new research hub will operate out of One World Trade Center in New York.
Infosys announced on October 1, 2026, a strategic collaboration with Columbia University to accelerate enterprise adoption of artificial intelligence. As part of the initiative, the partners established the Infosys Topaz - Columbia University Enterprise AI Center, led by Columbia Engineering.
The research facility is based at Infosys' One World Trade Center office in New York City. The center aims to support clients in deploying generative and agentic AI systems at scale while functioning as a joint innovation space for industry executives, researchers, and students.
The academic partnership will focus on three main areas: natural AI-first experiences and process transformation, responsible and sustainable AI addressing cybersecurity and energy use, and AI-driven marketing solutions. Garud Iyengar, founding director of the center and director of Columbia Data Science Institute, noted that the initiative will give students and companies an opportunity to co-create advanced intelligent systems.
Satish HC, executive vice president and chief delivery officer at Infosys, stated that the alliance aims to deliver scalable and responsible AI solutions for global organizations. Infosys currently employs over 325,000 workers and operates across 59 countries.
