Itaú and Samsung launch phone upgrade program
Clients can buy premium Galaxy models in up to 21 interest-free installments.
Itaú Unibanco and Samsung announced a new partnership on Monday to offer benefits on high-end smartphones to the bank's account holders. The program, called Sempre de Samsung, includes discounts, extended installment plans, and free shipping.
The model works similarly to the bank's existing iPhone pra Sempre initiative with Apple. Customers can purchase devices such as the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, and the Galaxy S22 lineup by paying roughly 60% of their retail value across up to 21 interest-free installments.
At the end of the 21-month period, users can trade in their smartphone for a newer device without paying the final charge. Alternatively, clients can keep the device by paying a final balloon payment of about 40% of the value, or return it at no extra cost.
The plan includes Samsung Care+ screen repair coverage and is available in the Itaú and Itaú Personnalité apps. Each customer with sufficient card credit limits can buy up to five phones. Subscriptions completed by November 28 offer up to 10% cashback on Itaú Shop, while sign-ups through December 4 include gifts like the Galaxy Watch 5 or Galaxy Buds 2 depending on the model.
