The Brazilian meatpacker obtained full shareholder consent after moving its listing to New York
JBS announced on Monday, September 21, that it has started procedures to voluntarily cancel its Category A publicly traded company registry with Brazil's securities regulator, the CVM. The meatpacker filed the request after securing unanimous approval from all its shareholders and holders of securities issued by the company.
A Category A registry allows a business to issue stock traded on the local stock exchange. JBS transferred its listing to the New York Stock Exchange last year. The filing was submitted under CVM Resolution 80 of March 29, 2022, and the cancellation remains subject to regulatory review within statutory deadlines.
Founded by the Batista family, JBS owns brands including Friboi, Swift, and Seara, operating across 17 countries and serving 300,000 customers in nearly 200 nations.
