Handling reached 341 thousand TEU through August 2026 amid steady yard investments
JBS Terminais increased cargo movement by 55% year over year between January and August 2026 at the port terminal of Itajaí. The division handled 341 thousand TEU during the eight-month period, up from 219 thousand TEU in the same span of 2025. For the full 2026 financial year, the company projects handling 500 thousand TEU.
Total capital deployed toward terminal revitalization and operations reached BRL 240 million as of 31 August 2026 since taking over the concession. Out of that total, BRL 230 million went to operational yard expansion and machinery. These expenditures drove a 25% expansion in operational capacity, supporting a target installed capacity of 600 thousand TEU.
Logistics upgrades included a BRL 9 million investment in an internal transport fleet, adding 25 dedicated trucks for quay-to-yard transfers. In September 2026, the unit also invested BRL 4 million in two heavy-duty electric forklifts, bringing its heavy equipment fleet to 14 units. The facility operates 1,700 refrigerated container plugs.
