Lucid partners with Bolt to deploy 25,000 robotaxis

On 17 September 2026, Lucid Group announced a strategic partnership with European shared-mobility platform Bolt to develop and deploy autonomous mobility services across Europe. Under the agreement, Bolt plans to deploy at least 25,000 fully autonomous vehicles built on Lucid's upcoming Midsize platform across multiple European cities and countries.

The vehicles will be engineered for SAE Level 4 autonomous driving and are expected to utilize Nvidia Hyperion, an autonomous-vehicle reference architecture combining high-performance compute with a standardized sensor suite. Bolt aims to reach a broader goal of having 100,000 autonomous vehicles operating on its platform by 2035.

Bolt intends to own and operate the fleet through its dedicated unit, Bolt Autonomous Driving Solutions. The unit will help define vehicle, software, safety, and rider-experience parameters while building the necessary fleet infrastructure and city partnerships. Bolt currently operates in more than 50 countries and 850 cities, serving over 200 million customers with 4.5 million drivers and couriers globally.

At Lucid, the project will be led by Lucid Technologies, a newly formed unit that consolidates the automaker's artificial intelligence, advanced driver assistance systems, autonomy, and digital functions. Lucid CEO Silvio Napoli stated that shared autonomous mobility allows the company to extend its technology beyond consumer vehicles.
