Petrobras receives BRL 448 million gasoline subsidy payment

On 19 September 2026, Petrobras reported in a filing with the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM) that it received a BRL 448 million payment under the economic subsidy program for gasoline sales. The payment corresponds to fuel sales completed between 16 July and 31 July.

Following this instalment, total subsidies received by Petrobras across diesel, gasoline, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) programs reached BRL 9.9 billion to date.

Additionally, the company's board of directors approved on Friday its adherence to a new economic subsidy for diesel producers and importers. Established by Provisional Measure 1,391 on 11 September 2026, the program sets a unit subsidy of BRL 1.00 per litre of type A road diesel for a period of 30 days, which can be extended for an equal term.

Petrobras noted that this participation does not waive previously owed subsidies or revoke its adherence to Provisional Measure 1,363, which provided a subsidy of BRL 1.12 per litre of type A diesel. The company stated that the benefits from both programs are cumulative. Formal signing of the accession agreement remains subject to the publication and review of operational regulations, while Petrobras continues to maintain its commercial pricing strategy.
