The new funding expands capital for data centers and power past $11 billion.
Helix Digital Infrastructure and KKR announced on September 28, 2026, that Samsung has committed $1 billion to Helix through its long-duration capital fund. KKR formed Helix to develop and operate data centers, power generation, transmission, fiber, and connectivity for hyperscalers.
The $1 billion commitment builds on more than $10 billion already pledged to Helix by founding investors, including KKR, the Kuwait Investment Authority, NVIDIA, and Vistra. Helix intends to deploy this capital across North America and globally.
Helix is led by CEO and co-founder Adam Selipsky, former CEO of Amazon Web Services. Helix plans to explore Samsung's capabilities in areas such as advanced technology, construction, energy storage, and cooling, alongside NVIDIA's full-stack AI expertise and Vistra's power infrastructure.
Globally, KKR has invested over $75 billion across digital infrastructure and power. The investment firm has operated in South Korea since 2009, where it has deployed approximately $9 billion across its strategies in infrastructure, private equity, real estate, and credit.
