The former Petrobras CFO and Cemig executive takes the leadership of the board.
Brazilian power transmission company Taesa announced on Wednesday, 16 September 2026, that Andrea Marques de Almeida will serve as the new chair of its board of directors. The appointment was disclosed in a regulatory filing sent to the market.
Almeida previously served as chief financial officer of state-run oil firm Petrobras. After taking that role, Fortune named her to its list of the 50 most powerful women internationally in 2019. In 2020, Forbes included her for the second consecutive year on its list of the world's 100 most powerful women, ranking her in 77th place.
The executive holds a degree in production engineering from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and an MBA in finance from the Instituto Brasileiro de Mercado de Capitais (Ibmec). Most recently, she served as vice president of finance and investor relations at Companhia Energética de Minas Gerais (Cemig) from 2024 to June 2026. Prior to that, she was vice president of finance and strategy at Santander Brasil from 2021 to 2024.
