Grupo Televisa could face administrative fines and regularization expenses if authorities in the State of Mexico confirm that suspension seals placed at an Endemol Shine Boomdog facility stem from permit, zoning, or safety violations. The site on the Mexico-Huixquilucan highway hosts the production of La Casa de los Famosos México.
Images of suspension seals on doors of the facility began circulating on social media on Monday, 14 September, after journalist Elisa Beristain shared them on Instagram. The municipality of Huixquilucan has not released any public document specifying the underlying cause, the affected areas, or the responsible party. Neither TelevisaUnivision nor Endemol Shine Boomdog has issued a public statement on the matter.
Under regulations published in the State of Mexico Government Gazette, removing suspension seals requires remedying the infractions and paying applicable fines. Penalties for commercial and production venues lacking proper safety, civil protection, or zoning compliance can exceed 100,000 Mexican pesos, while unlicensed private construction fines start around 5,000 Mexican pesos. Initial legal counsel typically costs about 2,000 Mexican pesos.
The broadcast has continued without reported disruptions. On Sunday, 13 September, the show held its seventh elimination gala. The current season started on 26 July with 18 participants. The State of Mexico penal code imposes prison terms between one and eight and a half years, along with fines of up to 1,000 days of wages, for breaching or ignoring official suspension orders.
