The partnership focuses on 5G and artificial intelligence tools for businesses.
Tencent announced on 15 September 2026 that its cloud division, Tencent Cloud, signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding with Malaysian telecom operator U Mobile. The alliance represents the first official artificial intelligence partnership between Tencent Cloud and a telecommunications provider in Malaysia.
The collaboration links Tencent Cloud's artificial intelligence and cloud services with U Mobile's ULTRA5G network and Enterprise Innovation Platform. Both organisations plan to develop, test, and demonstrate practical applications tailored for enterprises and small to medium-sized businesses.
By combining Tencent Cloud's AI and cloud capabilities with U Mobile's 5G infrastructure and innovation ecosystem, we look forward to enabling enterprises, SMEs, and developers to build impactful 5G and AI applications that address real-world business challenges while supporting Malaysia's digital transformation ambitions.
Under the agreement, the companies will run workshops, pilot showcases, and innovation sessions alongside startups, developers, and academic partners. Successful use cases may eventually advance toward commercialisation, pilot deployments, and technical knowledge exchanges in cybersecurity, system integration, and enterprise deployment.
