Annual fees for Reserve cards will rise from $599 to $799 starting January 12, 2027.
American Express Canada announced the refresh of its co-branded Aeroplan card portfolio on September 29, 2026. The new features and benefits will take effect on January 12, 2027, across consumer, small business, and corporate cards, extending an alliance with Air Canada's loyalty program that spans more than two decades.
Under the new structure, the annual fees for both the American Express Aeroplan Reserve Card and the American Express Aeroplan Business Reserve Card will increase from $599 to $799 on the first billing date following January 12, 2027. Both cards will add up to $100 annually in Air Canada wallet travel credits, a 15% points discount on Air Canada flight reward redemptions, and expanded lounge access including up to six annual Priority Pass passes and eight passes for select Aspire Amex lounges in Canada.
The consumer Reserve card will also introduce a $200 annual dining credit at participating locations from Air Canada's Best New Restaurants list. Spending bonuses on the card will provide a 10% points bonus at $125,000 in annual spending, plus an additional 10% for every $25,000 spent above that up to $400,000 per year. Both Reserve cards will offer a free fourth night when booking four hotel nights with points across more than 300,000 hotels, as well as a free fourth day on car rentals across 11,000 locations worldwide.
The changes also affect the standard American Express Aeroplan Card, the Aeroplan Corporate Card, the Aeroplan Corporate Reserve Card, and the invitation-only Air Canada Card. American Express noted that its Canadian division ranked first among credit card issuers for customer satisfaction for the second consecutive year in the J.D. Power 2026 Canada Credit Card Satisfaction Study.
