Funds managed by Apollo completed the acquisition of Nippon Sheet Glass on September 29, 2026. The buyout introduces a new management structure for the manufacturer, which produces architectural, automotive, and solar glass.
The transaction was backed by Apollo funds and key financial institutions. The new owners plan to strengthen the financial foundation of Nippon Sheet Glass to accelerate investments in personnel and technology. Apollo aims to apply its sector experience in glass, automotive, and manufacturing to expand the business.
Munehiro Hosonuma, Representative Director, President, and CEO of Nippon Sheet Glass, stated that the transaction opens a new stage for the group while keeping its century-old brand, expertise, and values intact. Tetsuji Okamoto, Lead Partner for Asia Pacific Private Equity at Apollo, noted that the partnership will focus on building a platform for growth and innovation.
As of June 30, 2026, Apollo managed approximately $1.05 trillion in assets across its alternative investment platform.
