The multi-year agreement aims to help AT&T connect 60 million Americans by 2030.
AT&T announced a multi-year agreement valued at more than $3 billion with Corning on September 29, 2026. Under the deal, Corning will supply the optical fiber and cable AT&T needs to expand its network and meet growing data demand driven by artificial intelligence.
The contract supports AT&T's plan to bring fast internet access to 60 million Americans by the end of 2030. According to the company, the average AT&T Fiber household currently consumes over 1 terabyte of data each month, a fivefold increase from 2016 levels. AT&T expects that figure to reach between 2 and 2.5 terabytes per month by 2030 as streaming, cloud computing, and AI tools expand.
The agreement fits within AT&T's broader commitment to invest more than $250 billion over five years into United States connectivity infrastructure. AT&T also reiterated its financial outlook and capital allocation plan from its second-quarter 2026 earnings report, noting that the guidance already accounts for this agreement.
Fiber remains the gold standard for superior internet connectivity, and AT&T is the nation's leader in fiber. Fiber's speed, reliability and capacity remain unmatched for any home or business.
