The lender committed COP 300,000 million to build a 250 MWp plant in Santander.
Banco de Bogotá committed COP 300,000 million on 14 September 2026 to finance the Parque Solar Puertos de Santander project. Patria Investments and Ashmore Colombia will develop the photovoltaic generation facility in the municipality of Cimitarra, Santander.
The facility will have an installed capacity of 250 MWp and is expected to generate more than 500 GWh of renewable energy per year for Colombia's national electricity system. The financing package provides the required capital to reach financial close and advance construction.
Luz Angélica Rubiano, director of structured finance at Banco de Bogotá, stated that the bank is committed to moving capital toward sustainable growth projects that diversify the national energy grid and build resilience.
The lender, led by president Juan Carlos Echeverry, framed the transaction within its broader strategy of financing infrastructure and energy transition initiatives.
