The insurer covered 709,543 vehicles in the first half of 2026, according to the CMF.
On 16 September 2026, Chile's Financial Market Commission reported that Bci held the largest share of insured vehicles in the country during the first half of 2026. Bci accounted for 709,543 insured vehicles, representing 31.06% of the market. This marks the company's highest count since the second half of 2023, when it insured 711,016 units out of a total of 2,192,732, or 32.43%.
Across the entire industry, the total number of insured vehicles reached 2,284,212 units in the first half of 2026, its highest level since records began in the second half of 2018. HDI Seguros followed Bci in second place with 561,730 insured vehicles, or 25.61% of the total. Sura ranked third with 187,697 units, followed by Zurich Chile with 180,746 units.
The regulator also tracked other competitors: Consorcio reached 110,089 insured vehicles, FID had 90,176, Zenit 77,588, Mapfre 68,849, Renta Nacional 65,103, BNP 52,214, and Porvenir closed the list with 9,960 vehicles.
Between January and June 2026, the industrywide average time between reporting an accident and vehicle readiness was 51.6 days. Bci recorded the highest volume of claims at 29,751 units, posting an average turnaround time of 51.4 days. Across the market, Zurich showed the longest total repair time at 53.6 days across 9,245 claims, while BNP recorded the shortest at 45.9 days over 1,776 claims.
