BTG Pactual partners with BRASA to offer US accounts and credit

Banco BTG Pactual and the Brazilian Student Association (BRASA) expanded their partnership on Monday, September 28, 2026, to offer financial services to Brazilian students abroad. The bundle includes an international dollar account, a debit card, and the BTG Pactual Black credit card with limits of up to $6,000 without requiring a local credit history abroad.

The international account allows students to hold a local dollar balance within BTG Pactual in the United States, backed by recent regulatory approvals from the Federal Reserve and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). Through BTG's application, students can also invest in both American and Brazilian financial markets. Additional benefits include four years of credit card fee waivers, cashback or points, zero IOF on foreign transactions, and airport VIP lounge access.

Roberto Sallouti, CEO of BTG Pactual, explained that growing international mobility among Brazilians creates fresh demand for long-term financial relationships, supported by the bank's expanding operational footprint in the United States.

Founded 12 years ago, BRASA has over 15,000 members across more than 125 universities. The relationship began in 2014 around mentoring, events, and recruiting. A survey by the association of over 1,000 students abroad found that most plan to return to Brazil, where BTG Pactual ranked as their most desired employer. The financial offer is available through BRASA ID subject to eligibility criteria.
