A Texas bankruptcy court paused Chapter 11 proceedings to coordinate restructuring under Chapter 15.
The United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas recognized Ambipar's judicial recovery in Brazil as the main restructuring proceeding for the group. The decision suspends the Chapter 11 bankruptcy process of its subsidiary, Ambipar Emergency Response.
The court concluded that the center of the company's main interests is in Brazil. Through Chapter 15, the US court recognized the judicial recovery being conducted by the 3rd Business Court of Rio de Janeiro. Ambipar stated that the decision enables a coordinated restructuring between Brazil and the United States, keeping the Rio de Janeiro process as the central track.
The Chapter 15 petitions were filed on July 9, 2026, and granted for the companies under judicial recovery and specific subsidiaries. The Chapter 11 process will remain suspended until the US court considers final recognition of the recovery plan approved in Brazil.
Ambipar explained that the ruling forms part of the Restructuring Support Agreement announced on July 8, 2026, with holders of Green Notes. Ambipar filed for judicial recovery in Rio de Janeiro on October 20, 2025, with processing approved on October 30, 2025. On the filing date, Ambipar Emergency Response initiated Chapter 11 proceedings in Houston, Texas.
