Coca-Cola Bottlers Open Yucatán Plant

Industria Mexicana de Coca-Cola (IMCC) and its bottling partner Bepensa Bebidas opened the new Planta Centenario Valladolid in Yucatán, Mexico. The facility required an investment of 1,200 million pesos to serve beverage demand across Yucatán, Quintana Roo, and Campeche.

Developed in a year and a half across 130,000 square meters, the plant is the first carbonated beverage processing center to open in the region since the late 1990s. The site increases Bepensa Bebidas' returnable product capacity by up to 30%, which allows it to cover a fourth of current demand across the Yucatán peninsula.

The facility features an automated production line operating at an average speed of 30,000 bottles per hour. It will serve more than 1,900 nearby clients across 29 distribution routes and manage over 950 daily orders. Its operations will generate nearly 200 direct jobs, adding to Grupo Bepensa's roughly 15,000 workers. Additionally, 10% of its vehicle fleet will be electric, including forklifts, utility vehicles, and delivery trucks.

The Coca-Cola Foundation and Bepensa are also contributing more than 2 million dollars in donations toward local environmental and community programs in partnership with Herencia Maya, the Government of Yucatán, and WWF.
