Colombia producer prices rose 2.20% in September
Mining drove the monthly increase ahead of the national consumer inflation print.
Colombia's national Producer Price Index rose by a monthly 2.20% in September 2026 compared to August 2026, according to figures released by national statistics agency DANE on October 6, 2026. The monthly increase exceeded the 0.55% recorded in September 2025.
The monthly advance was led by the mining and quarrying sector, which climbed 12.21%. Agriculture, livestock, and fishing also rose above average with an increase of 2.35%, while manufacturing industry output saw a more modest rise of 0.22%. By origin of goods, exported goods posted the highest increase at 6.02%, goods produced for domestic consumption rose 1.14%, domestic supply climbed 1.01%, and imported goods increased 0.58%.
On an annual basis, producer prices rose 2.20% in September 2026 compared to September 2025. That pace is 1.47 percentage points below the 3.67% annual rate recorded in the prior-year period. Over the twelve-month window, mining expanded 6.38%, agriculture, livestock, and fishing grew 4.57%, and manufacturing industry advanced 0.52%.
Year to date through September 2026, the producer price index accumulated a 5% increase from December 2025, compared to 0.06% in the same nine-month period of 2025. Mining gained 18.25% and agriculture, livestock, and fishing advanced 12.03% in that span. The indicator is monitored as a leading transmission channel for consumer inflation, which DANE is scheduled to report on October 7, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.
