The diagnostics group bundles laboratory, imaging, and genomic tests for anti-obesity drug users.
Brazilian diagnostic medicine company Dasa has created a business unit dedicated to obesity and cardiometabolic conditions. The initiative offers bundled laboratory, imaging, and genomic exams tailored to patients using GLP-1 medications such as Ozempic, Wegovy, and Mounjaro, as well as those evaluating treatment.
Around 6 million Brazilians currently use weight-loss injections, representing nearly 3% of the population. According to Itaú BBA estimates, Brazil's anti-obesity drug market will generate R$ 18 billion in pharmacy sales in 2026 and could expand to R$ 50 billion by 2030, reaching roughly 15 million users.
The bundled packages are sold out-of-pocket across company brands including Delboni, Lavoisier, and Alta Diagnósticos, with prices ranging from approximately R$ 200 to more than R$ 2,000. Leonardo Vedolin, medical vice president of Dasa, noted that monthly demand has been expanding at double-digit rates, though initial revenue contribution will remain in the low single digits.
Dasa performs over 450 million exams annually across 40 brands in 14 states. In the second quarter of 2026, the company posted gross revenue of R$ 2.4 billion, down 10% year-on-year, while its diagnostics division grew 9%. Consolidated Ebitda climbed 53% to R$ 446 million. In 2026, shares have fallen 35.9%, though they remain up 111% over the past 12 months, valuing the company at roughly R$ 3.6 billion.
