Ecopetrol explores energy opportunities in Venezuela

Ecopetrol CEO Joaquín Gutiérrez Caballero participated in the International Oil and Gas Congress held in Caracas, Venezuela. The company aims to identify new business opportunities and reinforce its growth strategy across the regional hydrocarbons market.

The Colombian state oil company stated that Venezuela remains a market of interest because of its substantial energy resources and petroleum development potential. Through this visit, the company seeks to analyze strategic alliances and initiatives that could generate value for both Ecopetrol and Colombia.

Before taking part in the gathering, Ecopetrol completed due diligence processes and risk assessments. It also established protocols to ensure strict compliance with applicable domestic and international regulations, including general licenses issued by the United States Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
