Estrategias Cibest filed to acquire Comercial Card, linking 20,000 merchants across Colombia.
Grupo Cibest plans to acquire 100% of Comercial Card, a fintech operating under the brand PTM, through its controlled entity Estrategias Cibest. PTM manages networks of banking correspondents, connecting nearly 20,000 merchants across more than 900 municipalities in Colombia.
PTM turns local shops into multiservice points. Users can process mobile and sports recharges, pay bills, buy entertainment pins, and access financial services. The company provides traditional correspondent services with Bancolombia and digital services with entities including Nequi, Grupo Aval, Davivienda, DaviPlata, BBVA, and Banco Agrario.
According to filings submitted to Colombia's Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC), Bancolombia accounted for 62.56 million correspondent banking transactions as of December 2025. That represented 74.98% of the total 83.43 million operations in the channel. In value terms, Bancolombia mobilized COP 34.12 trillion, or 85.44% of the total COP 39.94 trillion moved through banking correspondents.
The filing also detailed Bancolombia's footprint across specific correspondent operations. The bank concentrated 99.72% of fund transfer transactions and 99.67% of their value. In cash deposits, it handled 88.25% of operations and 91.85% of the total amount. For cash withdrawals, Bancolombia represented 92.90% of transactions and 94.51% of total value.
