The collaboration links antibody characterisation data with Lilly's AI drug discovery platform.
On 16 September 2026, Twist Bioscience announced an agreement with Lilly TuneLab, a collaborative artificial intelligence and machine learning drug discovery platform developed by Eli Lilly and Company. Under the deal, Twist will supply antibody characterisation data services for TuneLab, including support for AbLab, an antibody developability prediction model.
TuneLab offers participating companies access to AI and machine learning models trained on decades of proprietary research data from Eli Lilly. The platform is designed to help researchers screen and select candidate molecules more rapidly. Through the partnership, platform users can order wet-lab antibody services directly from Twist using preferred protocols and preferred pricing.
Emily M. Leproust, CEO and co-founder of Twist Bioscience, said that the quality of an AI model depends on the training data, noting that the arrangement allows users to select antibody sequences more efficiently while contributing experimental data back to TuneLab for federated training.
Lilly TuneLab is part of Lilly Catalyze360, a broader initiative that includes Lilly Ventures, Lilly Gateway Labs, and Lilly ExploR&D to support biotechnology innovation through capital, laboratory space, technology, and research capabilities.
