Ford Motor reported a 6.6% decline in third-quarter U.S. vehicle sales on October 2, 2026, delivering 509,764 vehicles. The automaker said that excluding the planned phase-out of the Escape and Corsair models, sales volume was essentially flat, compared with an estimated 1% drop across the broader industry. Ford estimated its U.S. retail market share rose by roughly 0.4 percentage point to 12.1%.

A short-term supplier issue unrelated to aluminum disrupted F-150 production at the end of September. Ford stated that the financial impact will remain contained within its full-year 2026 adjusted EBIT guidance range of $10 billion to $11 billion, which was originally provided on July 28.

Truck production and deliveries remained resilient. F-Series sales increased 2.4% in September to 67,448 units, taking year-to-date sales to 561,508 vehicles, which is more than 140,000 ahead of the Chevrolet Silverado. Third-quarter F-Series production rose 4.5% to 266,777 trucks, while Super Duty output grew 4.4% to 110,275 units, marking its best quarterly performance in 19 years.

Demand for hybrid and off-road vehicles also expanded. Maverick Hybrid deliveries surged 59.6% to a quarterly record of 27,793 vehicles, Bronco sales hit a record 38,020 units, and Explorer deliveries rose 17.6% through September to 189,210. Ford's off-road lineup accounted for 24% of sales through September, up 3.8 percentage points from the prior year. Additionally, active paid software subscriptions topped 1.7 million, up over 40% year over year.
