The redesign brings back V8 engines and lowers entry prices for off-road models after first-half supply disruptions.
Ford unveiled its redesigned 2027 F-150 on Tuesday, 15 September 2026, rolling out its most comprehensive refresh in years. The F-Series has been the best-selling truck in the United States for 49 years. The automaker is updating the line after US sales dropped 13.3% to 357,801 units in the first six months of 2026, down from 412,848 a year earlier. Aluminum plant fires at supplier Novelis cut production by 90,000 to 100,000 trucks, an outage that Ford said cost it $2 billion.
The 2027 truck expands engine choices across the lineup. Ford restored the 5.0-liter V8 engine to the King Ranch and Platinum trims for the first time since 2023, making it available from XL to Platinum. A larger 3.0-liter engine replaces the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6, delivering 10% to 11% more torque. The 3.5-liter EcoBoost remains with 13,500 pounds of towing capacity alongside the PowerBoost hybrid. In design, 70% of the lineup receives visual changes, including updated grilles and wheels on XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum models.
Technology upgrades include BlueCruise with Towing, which allows hands-free driving on over 130,000 miles of divided highways while pulling trailers. Ford validated the system across 800 trailer configurations. The automaker also introduced lower-priced off-road trims by removing luxury items like heated seats and premium audio. A Ford spokesperson said the Tremor Low starts about $5,300 below the current model, while the Raptor Low starts roughly $4,000 lower, putting entry-level Raptor pricing near $75,000.
The model line also adds a Carhartt edition starting at $62,660 before destination charges, featuring branded interior trim, floor mats, and a spray-in bedliner. Orders for the Carhartt edition opened alongside Tuesday's reveal, and the 2027 F-150 is scheduled to reach dealerships in early 2027.
