GLJ Research initiated coverage of the energy company with a $470 price target.
GE Vernova shares dropped 4.8% in pre-market trading on 14 September after GLJ Research initiated coverage of the energy and power equipment company with a Sell rating and a $470 price target. This target sits below recent trading levels and represents one of the most cautious views among analysts covering the stock.
The initiation added to market focus on the company's valuation. GE Vernova shares gained more than 52% over the past 12 months, but have fallen nearly 10% over the past month. The stock remains below its 52-week peak of $1,195.94 as investors evaluate its position in power generation and electrification.
The company's decline coincided with a weaker session across major US equity indices. The S&P 500 slipped 0.8%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 0.3%, and the Nasdaq fell 1.8%.
