Honeywell Technologies announced on 15 September 2026 the deployment of its modernized access control platform for the U.S. Marine Corps across global barracks facilities. The program uses the LenelS2 OnGuard system to support the military branch's Barracks 2030 modernization initiative. The U.S. Navy's Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic team manages and supports the project.
The cloud-managed system replaces standalone locks that previously required manual door-by-door updates across various bases. The new setup is designed to support more than 70,000 locks worldwide. Marines access barracks rooms and shared areas using their Common Access Card alongside newly introduced mobile credentials.
The rollout followed an initial pilot at Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort in South Carolina that met technical goals ahead of schedule. Program leaders estimate that avoiding extensive wiring and onsite infrastructure has lowered labor costs by about 80% and material costs by roughly 60% compared to legacy installations.
In March 2026, the program received FORUM's Disruptive Tech Award. It also won the 2026 Distinguished Award for Excellence in Emerging Technology from the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association.
