The on-premises beta enables banks to handle tokenized deposits around the clock.
International Business Machines Corporation expanded its digital banking infrastructure by connecting IBM Digital Asset Haven clients to Swift's blockchain-based shared ledger. The company launched an on-premises beta deployment to give financial institutions and regulated firms more control over digital asset operations.
The beta deployment uses an ISO 20022 Messaging Adapter. This tool allows institutions to process tokenized deposit transactions with standard ISO 20022 messaging, link into permissioned blockchains, and move digital assets 24/7 ahead of final settlement. The deployment runs on IBM Z and IBM LinuxONE hardware in client data centers. It includes IBM Crypto Express HSM protection, confidential computing, secure partitioning, structured key ceremonies, and cold-storage capabilities with the same APIs as the SaaS and hybrid versions.
The company competes in banking technology against Microsoft and Alphabet. Microsoft expanded Azure services and artificial intelligence through a partnership with OYAK ANKER Bank. Alphabet is offering Gemini-powered tools on Google Cloud for risk management, fraud detection, and customer service.
IBM shares have dropped 19.4% over the past year, while its industry gained 210.8%. The stock trades at a forward price-to-sales ratio of 2.93, compared to the industry average of 5.35. Over the past 60 days, consensus earnings estimates fell 0.1% to $12.33 per share for 2026, and dropped 0.1% to $13.22 per share for 2027.
