The company adds offices and four fulfillment hubs to boost same-day delivery.
On 16 September 2026, MercadoLibre announced the rollout of its $600 million investment plan in Colombia during the Mercado Libre Experience event at the Movistar Arena in Bogota. The company is opening corporate offices in Bogota and Medellin while deploying regional fulfillment facilities across Bogota, Medellin, Cali, and Barranquilla.
MercadoLibre currently employs 6,100 people in Colombia. Its corporate expansion includes new offices at Connecta 80 in Bogota designed for 2,000 workers, as well as new space at Rivana Business Park in Ciudad del Rio, Medellin, where the company already employs 1,600 staff.
The logistics rollout focuses on four Metro Full fulfillment sites enabling same-day delivery for orders placed until 6:00 p.m. In Medellin, a new facility began operations in July 2026. A 1,160-square-meter hub will open on 10 October in Bogota across nine localities. A 770-square-meter center will launch on 20 October in Barranquilla, extending same-day delivery to Cartagena and Santa Marta for purchases made by 12:30 p.m. In Cali, a 980-square-meter hub will open on 3 November, reaching Armenia, Manizales, and Pereira for orders placed by 1:00 p.m.
So far in 2026, roughly 11,000 small and medium enterprises joined the platform, taking its active seller base to a record 43,600 SMEs, up 45% from year-end 2025. Across all categories, MercadoLibre counts 98,000 sellers in Colombia, where 83% have between one and five employees and more than 50% manufacture their products locally.
