MercadoLibre has surpassed 140 logistics facilities across 31 states in Mexico, reaching 1.7 million square meters dedicated to e-commerce and last-mile operations. The company revealed these metrics at the Mercado Libre Experience 2026 event on 14 September 2026, noting that it added more than 500,000 square meters of capacity during 2025.
According to the Efecto MELI study presented at the event, the company generated 106,400 million Mexican pesos in 2025, which represented 0.4% of Mexico's national GDP. The platform's commercial activity was also linked to more than 136,000 jobs. One out of every five Mexican small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) now sells on the platform, and 80% of their sales reached states where they previously did not operate.
MercadoLibre's financial unit, Mercado Pago, closed 2025 with nearly 1 million SMEs using its payment processing tools. In addition, 6 million individuals and 630,000 SMEs earned returns through their accounts by the end of that year.
During the second quarter of 2026, MercadoLibre increased its items sold by 34% compared with the same period a year earlier. Gross merchandise volume (GMV) rose 26% on an FX-neutral basis. Across the region, 77% of rapid shipments reached buyers in under 48 hours.
